L’Association Pièces et Service des Concessionnaires Toyota du Québec (the APSCTQ) is committed to respecting your privacy. The APSCTQ respects your right to privacy. This Policy explains the APSCTQ’S confidentiality principles and policies that are intended to protect your privacy. The standards of privacy apply to all personal information collected by the APSCTQ from My Toyota Program members. Personal information means information that identifies you personally. This term does not include general information that does not identify you specifically. If you do not agree with this Policy, please refrain from using this site.

What type of personal information does the APSCTQ collect from the matoyota.ca site?

As part of the My Toyota Program, the APSCTQ collects from you the information required for your enrolment in the My Toyota Program and to maintain and update your membership status. This information includes the following elements: your first and last names, home address, telephone number(s), email address, age, sex, as well as information about car(s) purchased or leased and your dealer preferences. The APSCTQ will also collect information related to your service transactions at Quebec Toyota dealers. From time to time, as part of surveys of My Toyota Program members, the APSCTQ may ask you to provide information about your purchase preferences, your lifestyle and demographic information.

How does the APSCTQ use your personal information?

The APSCTQ may use your personal information for the following reasons:

1. For the purposes of the My Toyota Program, and to make you special offers as part of the My Toyota Program;

2. To respond to your requests for information;

3. To maintain or improve the My Toyota Program, to better understand your automobile purchase and maintenance needs and to conduct behavioural analyses of My Toyota Program members;

4. To offer you products and services from Quebec Toyota dealers participating in the My Toyota Program;

5. To communicate with you during advertising or marketing campaigns by participating Quebec Toyota dealers.

Who does the APSCTQ share your personal information with?

For the purposes mentioned above, the APSCTQ may share your personal information with Toyota Canada Inc., the Quebec Toyota Dealers Association, participating Toyota dealers and the Toyota Dealers Advertising Association, as well as service providers who supply website hosting services, send emails, carry out surveys and operate the My Toyota Program and those who treat and manage your personal information for the purposes mentioned herein.

The APSCTQ requires third-party service suppliers to implement and maintain security measures and to use, retain and disclose your personal information strictly according to APSCTQ instructions and only on behalf of the APSCTQ.

The APSCTQ may also share your information with its marketing partners who may provide you with information about their own products and services. The APSCTQ requires its marketing partners to implement and maintain security measures and to use, retain and disclose your personal information only in the context of the marketing partnership, if necessary, with the APSCTQ instructions and only insofar as you consent. You have the option to withdraw from the mailing list of the APSCTQ’s marketing partners.

The APSCTQ will not disclose your personal information to third parties, except if (i) your prior consent was obtained; or (ii) it is required or permitted by law.

Please note that the APSCTQ does not sell lists containing the personal information of My Toyota program members.

Your consent can be obtained either explicitly or implicitly, depending on the circumstances.

As part of the enrolment process in the My Toyota Program, you will be asked to consent to the collection of personal information by the APSCTQ for the purposes specified in this Policy.

By clicking on “I have read and I accept the attached Privacy Policy.”, you authorize the APSCTQ to collect, use and disclose your personal information as described in the sections “What type of personal information does the APSCTQ collect?”, “How does the APSCTQ use your personal information?” and “Who does the APSCTQ share your personal information with?”.

In certain cases, the My Toyota Program and APSCTQ marketing campaigns involve sending information bulletins, service recalls and special offers on behalf of participating Quebec Toyota dealers.

If you do not wish to receive emails about special offers from the My Toyota Program, or as part of advertising or marketing campaigns, leave the box next to “I want to receive information by email” blank when you enrol. Once you are a member, you can uncheck the box next to “I want to receive information by email“ in your member profile.

You can at any time advise the APSCTQ that you do not wish it to use your personal information for any purpose other that what is necessary for your enrolment as a member in the My Toyota Program.

You only have to modify your profile or communicate with the representative responsible for this Policy and the procedures of the APSCTQ at the addresses indicated at the end of this document.

The APSCTQ will request your consent for any further use of your personal information for which it has not already obtained prior consent.

The only information automatically collected and saved by the APSCTQ is information that does not identify you personally, such as the name of your Internet provider, the type of browser you use, referring websites and pages consulted. The APSCTQ uses this generic information to generate general use statistics about the website.

Minors

How does the APSCTQ protect your personal information?

The APSCTQ limits access to your personal information as required for the purposes identified herein. The APSCTQ uses computer systems equipped with security features to store personal information. People who access such personal information must use passwords to access the APSCTQ computer system and must act according to the directives provided by the representative designated by the APSCTQ to ensure compliance to this Policy. Please note that it is your sole responsibility to ensure the confidentiality of your password(s).

How to review and update your personal information.

At any moment you can review, update, or correct any personal information contained in the APSCTQ files, as well as your consent status concerning the use and disclosure of this information by visiting the “My Profile” section of your My Toyota Program account. However, if you modify your profile by deleting personal information necessary for your enrolment in the My Toyota Program, the APSCTQ will no longer be able to maintain your membership status.
